Cowes students are
NINE students from Cowes Pri-
mary School attended the Joe Car-
mody Athletics Track, Newborough
to contest the Regional Athletics
The weather was rather unpleas-
ant, icy winds, low temperatures,
wind and rain.
Events contested were 1500m,
800m, hurdles, long jump, triple
jump, discus, shot put and relay.
All students performed amaz-
ingly under the conditions and
achieved some fantastic results.
Tejaye Kleverkamp finished first
in 12 year old boys shot put and
discus, Lachlan Taylor won 11 year
old boys triple jump and came sec-
ond in discus.
Jack Johnston came second in
11 year old boys long jump and
Isla Ormond came in third in the
11 year old girls hurdles.
The boys have progressed
through to the State Champion-
ships to be held next Monday, Oc-
