ARE you a beginner or thinking about getting
back to golf?
The Phillip Island Golf Club is opening its doors
and the course so you can come and see the ba-
sics of playing golf or how to get back to golf.
So what is it about golf?
This is a question non-golfers often ask when
they hear the stories of the crucial putt their friend
missed or the ball their spouse sliced into the dam
or the sand trap that had them beat that day.
To onlookers it can seem like a torturous way
to spend four hours a couple of times a week.
But to golfers it is a different story!
Golf is a personal challenge, to get that swing
right, to hit out of the bunker onto the green close
to the pin, to drop a long putt.
They are a part of why people love golf, the rest
is about the people you meet, the friendships, the
camaraderie and the belonging to a club.
These are just as important as the game itself.
