Bass Coast Shire Council announced last week that McCorkell Constructions had started building the new $30 million Cultural Centre. The project has been criticised for the $8.2 million budget increase announced in October, and the decision to demolish the old centre in August 2020 before designs were finalised, with the site sitting empty for over a year.
