Get behind Growing Cambodia
2 min read

The annual Growing Cambodia Trivia Night fundraiser is on again this year at Berninneit on Saturday October 11, from 6pm until 10.30pm.

The night promises to be another entertaining one with trivia questions and games, as well as a silent auction and a major raffle. There will also be music for singing and dancing.

Don't miss out on the best evening of entertainment while supporting an important cause. All profits for the night will go to the programs of Growing Cambodia which has been running for 12 years thanks in no small part to ongoing support from the island community.

Growing Cambodia's purpose is to offer rural Cambodians an opportunity to improve their quality of life through education and health and wellbeing support.

Over 900 students are attending free English lessons at the schools established by Growing Cambodia in four rural villages. Lessons are conducted by local

Cambodian teachers with help from volunteers.

Growing Cambodia also provides scholarships for students to attend public school if their families are unable to afford the mandatory uniforms to attend.

Students leaving the schools are also offered university sponsorships. Thanks to its Tertiary Patrons program, Growing Cambodia is currently supporting 23 university students.

Patrons are needed for the Class of 2026, those school leavers who are looking to start their courses in January 2026. Being a Tertiary Patron involves donating AUD$1000 per annum over four years of a tertiary course. If you would like to become a Tertiary Patron, Growing Cambodia would love to hear from you.

Last year's Trivia Night raised over $26,000 and organisers are hoping to pass that total with this year's event. Organisers are also looking for sponsors and donations to support the fundraiser.

Get your friends and family together, test your trivia skills and raise money for a fantastic cause.

Alternatively you can buy tickets for the major raffle ($10 per ticket).

* First prize is a choice of one week's accommodation at Sand Dunes Resort Sunshine Coast or four nights' accommodation at Bimbadeen Farm Retreat Phillip Island, worth $1500.

* Second prize is a bottle of Grange, worth $850.

* Third prize is Gift Vouchers, worth $150.

The winners will be drawn on the night and notified by phone. Tickets can be purchased from any Committee member or Trivia Night table captain.

To book a table of 10 ($50 per person), email enquiry @growingcambodia.org.au or phone Steve on 0409 167 001 or Vicki on 0402 403 247.
