Guest speaker at the Anzac Day service was Newhaven College School captain Max Arceo. Max is congratulated on a job very well done by proud parents Ralph Arceo and Melina van der Weerd-Arceo.

The Newhaven College choir sang both the New Zealand and Australian national anthems at the Anzac Day service, conducted by Matt Goss, Director of Music at the college.

Cr Ronnie Bauer (right), who represented the Bass Coast Shire at the Anzac Day ceremony in Cowes, proudly wore his father-in-law, Lloyd Robinson’s medals. Lloyd served in the Navy in World War II on HMAS Townsville. Cr Bauer is with Peter Buckney, who served in the Australian Army in Malaya and Vietnam.

Bob and Barry are Vietnam Veterans. Barry also read the Ode to the Anzacs at the Anzac Day ceremony. Kevin is proudly wearing the medals which belonged to his grandfather, who served in the Australian Navy in World War I.
Newhaven College student Leith Cameron presented a wreath on behalf of his school at the Anzac Day service in Cowes. Leith with his parents Rachel and Alan Cameron, and Phillip Island RSL secretary Bob Woods, who served in Australia and New Zealand. Bob is also wearing his father’s war service medals.
