Dear Bass Coast,

Many of you will be enjoying the school holidays together, either here as residents or visitors. I am delighted to share some exciting opportunities for our community to come together, strengthen social connections and build lasting memories.

School holidays are a time for families to reconnect and create cherished moments. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this special time by exploring the wonderful offerings Bass Coast has to offer.

Our libraries are brimming with enriching activities and events suitable for all ages. From storytime sessions to creative workshops, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Let's make the most of these holidays by immersing ourselves in the joy of learning and discovery. You can check out more information on the MyLi website or our Bass Coast website.

Our region boasts an array of playgrounds and playspaces that cater to diverse interests and preferences. I urge you to visit these spaces and witness firsthand the fun and excitement they provide for children and families alike. You may even enjoy sitting on a swing yourself and invoking dreamy childhood memories! Some of these spaces are changing and your feedback is valuable in shaping the future of these play areas, so don't forget to share your thoughts and suggestions on Engage, our community engagement platform.

Beyond the childhood dreams are the necessities of adult life and all the exciting things that go along with that such as finances! We are thrilled to be hosting "She's on the Money" on April 18 at the RACV Club in Inverloch. This dynamic session, led by finance expert Victoria Devine, promises practical insights into financial success tailored for business owners. Victoria's expertise will empower you with clear strategies for profit and business brilliance. Join us for this invaluable opportunity to enhance your financial knowledge and connect with fellow entrepreneurs.

Finally, I want to acknowledge and commend the bravery of two outstanding members of our community, Samuel Haycroft and Thomas Robinson, who recently received Australian Bravery decorations from the Governor-General. Their courageous conduct exemplifies the strength and resilience within our community. Let us celebrate their achievements and continue to support each other in building a safe and thriving Bass Coast.
