Protecting Aboriginal heritage

Victorian Traditional Owners are invited to apply for positions on the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council and play a key role protecting Aboriginal cultural heritage for all Victorians.

The eleven-person Council comprises Traditional Owners, ensuring Aboriginal people are making decisions about their own heritage in line with the principle of self-determination.

Expressions of interest must be received by 5pm, May 6.

Grants for music venues and festivals

Applications are open for the Live Music Festivals and 10,000 Gigs: The Victorian Gig Fund programs - designed to boost the music industry during this period of change.

The Live Music Festivals Fund will provide grants of up to $50,000 to established Victorian festival organisers to help them stage new or existing events.

Live music venues can apply for a grant of up to $10,000 to go towards Victorian artists' fees for gigs at their venue.

Applications open on April 22 and close on Friday, May 17 at 2pm.

Offshore Electricity Infrastructure

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is now consulting on the Offshore Electricity Infrastructure Amendment Regulations 2024 (proposed Regulations).

The proposed Regulations set out requirements for offshore wind projects once an offshore electricity infrastructure licence has been granted. They will assist in establishing an offshore wind industry in Australia.

A Consultation Paper provides a description of key parts in the proposed regulations and explains how processes might work in practice. You can access the Consultation Paper at: app.converlens.com/climate-au/offshore-electricity-infrastructure-regulations-2024

Submissions close at 11.59pm (AEST) on May 12.


Emergency volunteers equipment

Applications are now open for this year's Victorian Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP) that supports Victorian emergency services volunteer groups to purchase essential equipment or make facility improvements so that they can continue their vital work. 

Groups can apply for a grant up to a maximum of $150,000, with the government providing $2 for every $1 of funding contributed by the local volunteer group. 

Applications close June 14.
