Greenbury returns to racing ahead of opening round of Porsche Sprint Challenge
1 min read

The opening round of the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge gets underway this weekend at the Phillip Island Circuit in conjunction with Round 3 of the Shannon’s SpeedSeries.

Stepping into the driver’s seat of the Porsche GT3 Cup Car for the first time ahead of the opening round is Queenslander Tyler Greenbury who will be piloting the number six under his own TGR livery (Tyler Greenbury Racing).

Almost four years on from Tyler’s last race, he moves into the new category with 20 years of previous on track experience racing for over 30 Australian and State Championships, including the Supercars Championship along with the Super 2 and Super 3 support classes.

Tyler’s focus in recent years, however, has been the development of the TGR brand and a feeder program for young aspiring drivers, including a karting team, along with a team in both the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge and the Toyota 86 Gazoo Racing branch.

He regards the island as his favourite Australian circuit and is “definitely excited to jump back into the seat”.

“It’s been a while between races but that just adds to the excitement on race day, it’s certainly been a busy lead up.

“With a last-minute decision to race the car myself, the team has had to work around the clock to pull this off, but we’ve made it this far and now it’s up to me to deliver a result for the team and say thanks!”
