On August 5, Newhaven College Prep students celebrated 100 days of school.

Students and their teachers got into the spirit of the celebrations arriving at school in their ‘100’ themed costumes.

Preps were given the task to decorate their clothes with 100 items.

They really excelled in using their imaginations to create magnificent outfits and proudly paraded into school. Their clothes were adorned with 100 buttons, 100 ribbons, 100 eyes, 100 tags, 100 stars, 100 pom poms, 100 beads, 100 gemstones, 100 beetles and even 100 superheroes!

Dressed in their costumes, they proudly paraded through the Junior School high-fiving Year 1-4 students.

Following onto the Middle School, students were greeted by applause and cheers.

As the day progressed, students competed in a outdoor activities and literacy and numeracy activities involving the number 100. It was a wonderful way to recognise their achievements and make learning fun.

As part of the celebration, students enjoyed a dance party and indulged in some all-important fairy bread with 100’s n 1000’s.

A College spokesperson said the school was very proud of its Prep students.

“They have built strong foundations for their future learning, settled into the school routine extremely well and enjoyed making new friends. They are confident and active members of our Junior School and we trust they enjoyed this special day of celebration.”
