RSL Board member Peter Paul said sourcing a Queensland Silky Oak was no easy task and has expressed thanks to Townsends Nursery in Wonthaggi for locating the species, and donating the tree for the memorial to Corporal Frederick Edward Woodley, who served in the 2nd/10th Field Company, Royal Australian Engineers, and died in Borneo in 1945.
Peter is pictured planting the tree last week with RSL president Chris Thompson, and Board member Mal Percy.
