Twelve-year-old Amy Hodson will swim 30kms during February 2025 in the Starlight Foundation Super Swim Challenge, and is asking the community to sponsor her quest.

Amy Hodson is returning to the pool again this summer for the Super Swim Challenge, raising money for the Starlight Foundation.

The 12-year-old has signed up for her third year of the challenge, committing to swimming 30kms during February 2025.

This year, she is aiming to raise $3000 and has even donated $30 of her own pocket money.

A member of the South Gippsland Bass (SGB) swimming team, Amy's combined her love of swimming with raising money for sick kids.

And Amy knows from personal experience just how important the Starlight Foundation can be for the kids and their families.

She was born with a rare cataract which left her blind in her right eye.

The cataract was removed when she was eight weeks old, and she has been on six monthly (even three monthly at times) visits to the Royal Children's Hospital ever since.

Her mum Robyn said going to the Starlight Express Room was a highlight of her hospital visits.

Now Amy is back in the pool for the third year in a row to raise funds for a service that has been so important to her, and her family.

To date, her Super Swim Challenges have raised over $1700 for the Starlight Foundation.

Amy is hoping that once again the community gets behind her fundraising challenge.

You can sponsor Amy on her quest at superswim.org.au/a-hodson

All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
