Artists’ Society of Phillip Island Region (ASPIR) is holding its Easter Exhibition in the foyer of the Performing Arts Centre at Newhaven College, from April 7 until April 10.

Following a most successful Cup Weekend Exhibition at Newhaven College, The Artists’ Society of Phillip Island Region (ASPIR) is thrilled to be holding its Easter Exhibition in the foyer of the Performing Arts Centre at Newhaven College.

The exhibition opens on April 6 at 7pm, then runs daily from 10am – 5pm until April 10.

You can expect the usual high class of entries, as well as pieces from the many new members who have joined ASPIR this year.

“New members bring with them fresh ideas which will enhance the exceptional diversity of the work displayed,” said an ASPIR spokesperson.

“The Judge Jo Reitze will not have an easy feat choosing winners.”

This year’s exhibition categories are: Best in Show, Best Painting, Best body of Work, Best other Medium, Best Textile or Wearable Art.

This year it was decided to alter one Category to Best Textile or Wearable Art as this broadens the opportunity and includes some beautiful artistic work.

In addition this Exhibition includes a great sponsorship from Clay and Co for the opportunity of an Exhibition at their new studio in Cowes, and will be judged by Karen Morton of Clay and Co.

“Thanks goes to the sponsors, Phillip Island RSL, Chemmart Cowes, Turn The Page, Flowers of Phillip Island, Seniors Art Supplies, and the wonderful Bendigo Community Bank for a major prize along with Highly Commended in five categories.

“There will also be the fabulous raffle of local produce and a People’s Choice award.”

Opening night is on Thursday evening starting at 7pm with the announcement of winners, and refreshments.

Do come and join in.
