Ayden battles it out against the best in state’s west

Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club’s Ayden Fawaz has returned to Phillip Island with one gold and two silver medals from the 2022 Victorian Senior Lifesaving Championships held at Warrnambool.
Ayden was one of more than 750 competitors, officials and supporters who travelled to the state’s west to put their lifesaving skills to the test in near-perfect conditions over three days of competition.
He claimed gold in the under 14 men’s 1km run, ahead of Hugo Walsh of Ocean Grove SLSC and Joe Madigan of Warrnambool SLSC.
He then teamed up with Point Leo SLSC’s Noah Kyriacou to take silver in the youth men’s 2 x 1km relay, and he and Noah joined forces with Point Leo’s Charlie Farrell and Portsea’s Charlie Cornwell to win another silver medal in the youth men’s Cameron relay.
