Be a business who lends a helping hand
Free 3D Hands has launched their Corporate Sponsorship pack.
Free 3D Hands has launched their Corporate Sponsorship pack which invites businesses to sign-on as annual donors to help sustain the charity in the long term.
“We would like to thank Phillip Island Holiday Homes who have approached us to become our first official annual sponsors,” said founder Mat Bowtell. “We are very grateful for their desire to see us continue to help others long into the future.”
Free 3D Hands is a local charity who design and 3D print hands and assistive devices.
“The hands are provided for free, to children and adults all around the world and we even pay the postage,” explained Mat.
“We freely share our designs under an open-source licence so others can make and repair their own devices and to encourage further innovation. Free 3D Hands’ goal is to significantly bring down the cost of assistive technology to help those who currently cannot access or afford it.”
Located on Phillip Island and founded by local Mat Bowtell, the small team have provided hundreds of devices all around the world.
“Our designs are also being made by volunteers in places such as Italy, Thailand, France, South Africa, Egypt, USA, Poland and Laos,” said Mat.

“We are currently developing a low cost, multi-grip bionic arm and are making exciting progress with the latest prototype. Our goal is to make the equivalent of a $60,000 bionic arm ... for under $60 in parts.”
Community engagement is one of the ways businesses can show not only their customers, but their employees, that their efforts and energies can extend to a purpose beyond themselves.
By simply choosing to use a service or product that supports Free 3D Hands, you will be having a positive impact on the lives of many children and adults who could otherwise not access or afford the products they need.
