Big weekend for Island soccer despite the wet - U17
Final score: Phillip Island 7 to Inverloch 1.
The Phillip Island Breakers hosted Inverloch on Sunday, and once again were slow to start, with Hugo Norton first to find the back of the net for Inverloch.
The Island boys and girls didn’t give up and managed to score the equaliser through Xavier Godena, into strong wind. Score 1-1 at the half time whistle.
The second half was a lot different to the first, as the team now had the wind advantage, and players were instructed to play their positions, and move the ball around.
The Breakers put the ball into the net another six times and moved the ball around well.
Solo Scarlet kicked one from long range and was solid in Defence, Xavier Godena slotted another one with his great run throughout the whole game scoring two goals, Nate Anderson put one in and also ran the game out well, and Jad Ellaz jagged two.
The U17s are starting to work well as a team and play unselfish football.
Dean Rizzo also played well in the midfield and with his goal assists.
Final score Phillip Island 7 to Inverloch 1.
To Inverloch’s credit they played with 10 players the whole game.
Well done, Breakers.
