Bass Coast bike riders in shire are set to benefit from grants announced last week which aim to reduce road trauma and save lives.
Bass Coast bike riders in shire are set to benefit from grants announced last week which aim to reduce road trauma and save lives.
Minister for Roads and Road Safety Ben Carroll announced 232 initiatives have been funded as part of the $1.5 million Community Road Safety Grants Program. The grants have targeted education programs and provide localised solutions to road safety.
Funding recipients in the Bass Coast Shire include:
- Bass Coast Specialist School to receive $8190 for speed advisory messages and variable messaging signs.
- Salvation Army to receive $4800 for Changing Gears education program to be run at Yes Youth Hub
Bass Coast Shire Council to receive:
- $1000 for its Primary Schools Bike Education Challenge
- $4000 for bike education instructor training
- $4950 for bike education maintenance and equipment and
- $3000 for Safer Cyclist Innovation to be delivered by the Phillip Island Bicycle Group who will engage with all primary schools in Bass Coast to support the Bike Education Program.
