Woolamai Beach SLSC received $22,681 for minor facility improvements in the latest round of the 2025/26 Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP).

Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club is one of five local clubs that received funding in the latest round of the 2025/26 Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP).

Woolamai Beach SLSC received $22,681 for minor facility improvements, with Cape Paterson, Inverloch and Wonthaggi surf life saving clubs also receiving funding.

Under the CFA portion of the program, Koo Wee Rup received $145,833 for vehicles and appliances.

Member for Bass, Jordan Crugnale congratulated the local organisations that received funding, saying every dollar raised from the Emergency Services and Volunteers Fund went directly to emergency and disaster recovery services.

“Our emergency services volunteers are extraordinary people that put community safety first – they keep us informed, supported, prepared and protect lives and property year-round.”

The CFA received more than $22.6 million in grants for brigades and groups to share to purchase new equipment, helping to further protect their local communities.

The VESEP funding announced was spread across 168 CFA projects which included a range of facility upgrades and replacement vehicles for brigades including 14 Medium tankers, 12 Ultralight tankers and 31 Field Command Vehicles (FCV).

CFA Chief Officer Jason Heffernan said VESEP grants help provide brigades with significant funding for vital equipment and facility improvements.

  1. Koo Wee Rup CFA - vehicles and appliances: $145,833.
  2. Cape Paterson SLSC - operational equipment: $21,047.
  3. Inverloch SLSC - minor facility improvements, vehicles and appliances: $28,614.
  4. Wonthaggi LSC - operational equipment: $80,833.
  5. Woolamai Beach SLSC - minor facility improvements: $22,681.
