The YES Youth Hub and Bass Coast FReeZA, together with the YMCA Bass Coast successfully applied for a State Government grant to hold events and activities during Youth Fest 2024.

Member for Bass, Jordan Crugnale announced the three were the collective recipients of a $2000 grant as part of the Youth Fest 2024, to be held in September this year.

The grant will enable them to work with a passionate group of young people to plan and present IGNITE - an exhibition to be held at Berninneit in Cowes. From planning to exhibition, this special interest group will do it all from a call out to young Bass Coast artists across a range of mediums to the celebration and display of their artistry to the public.

"So wonderful to see this partnership of local youth organisations come together to support and empower young people to bring together young filmmakers, musicians, artists and creatives across the Bass Coast to exhibit, celebrate and showcase their artistry in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment," Ms Crugnale said.

"I so look forward to this event."

The government announced grants for 110 recipients, including schools, local government and community organisations, which each received a grant of up to $2000 to create exciting and interactive events for young people across Victoria.

Almost half of this year's Youth Fest events will take place in regional and rural locations, including activities in Cowes, East Gippsland, Swan Hill and Horsham.

Youth Fest will be held in September, with the government grants supporting young people to organise and deliver events, showcase their skills, share ideas, build social connections, and expand their networks.
