Wellbeing was on the menu when the Phillip Island Business Network hosted an intimate dinner Soiree at the Foreshore Bar & Restaurant in Rhyll earlier this month.
In attendance were 63 business leaders from the Network’s membership who were treated to a delicious three course dinner in a beautiful setting.
Guests had attended with the promise of a lovely meal shared between the business community but got more than they bargained for when popular comedian Des Dowling surprised everyone with 30 minutes of sensational comedy.
None of the guests were off limits as Des proceeded to work the room and quickly fished out several high-profile guests including the Network’s own president, Kimberley Brown, Treasurer Simon Manning, Bass Coast Shire Councillor and Manager of PICAL David Rooks and other vibrant business owners.
Once the audience’s cheeks were well and truly sore from laughter, Jessica Janson, Marketing Officer for the Network, explained the true purpose of the evening was to demonstrate how important laughter is as a medicine for improving wellbeing.
The Network has focused on creating wellbeing in workplaces for the past two year as a vital part of good business practice and particularly relevant in a post Covid recovery, Jessica said.
