
Island Voice members Linda Marston and Peter McMahon, with RSL member Cheryl Overton, were kept busy on Tuesday night at the Cowes Christmas Carol family night helping to co-ordinate proceedings.

Felix Fantastic worked the crowd showing off some amazing card tricks. Local kids Eddie, Sadie, Lila and Evie were most impressed.

CFA volunteers Terry Quarrell and Chase Watters had an important job on Tuesday night. Santa hitched a ride to the event with them in the local brigades decades old shiny red fire truck. The Phillip Island brigade recently celebrated its 80th birthday.

Thanks to generous local sponsors, all the rides were free, making it a fantastic and low-cost night out for families.

Santa was a busy man on Tuesday night, listening to present wish lists from all the kids.

The free rides kept the children entertained from 5.20pm, before the arrival of Santa, then the carols performances and the fireworks.

These local youngsters were having a great time together, waiting for a turn on the rides.

The decision to reschedule Carols by the Bay to December 20 was a good one, with the community treated to a perfect night on the Cowes foreshore.
Organised by Island Voice, the night included free carnival rides and entertainment for the children from 5.20pm with Santa arriving at 6pm to the delight of the little ones.
Incredible carols performances kicked off at 7.30pm and the night culminated in spectacular fireworks at 9.30pm.
With an estimated crowd of 4000 plus, the night as been described as the "best yet" of the popular annual event.
The Advertiser was on hand to capture some of the locals enjoy this special community night.
