Newhaven College Prep students last week celebrated an important milestone with the presentation of their reading folders, marking the beginning of their path to becoming confident readers.
Families joined in the celebration, taking part in reading sessions.
Head of Junior School Cath Huther and Director of Learning Karen Milkins-Hendry were on hand to congratulate each student on their achievements so far.
The College said its Science of Reading program is grounded in the latest research, ensuring every student receives high-quality literacy instruction.
A key outcome of the program has been the strengthening of home-school partnerships, with families actively supporting their children's reading through tailored take-home folders.
"The Reading Party was a wonderful opportunity to invite parents into our Prep classrooms to help them understand how children learn to read through the Science of Reading," said Head of Junior School, Cath Huther.
"Families gain practical ways to support their children's reading at home."
To learn more about Newhaven College's Prep program, families are encouraged to attend the upcoming Prep Information Morning on Wednesday, April 29 at 10am.
