Championship racing at Phillip Island-this weekend

This weekend, May 14 and 15, PIARC presents Round 3 of the 2022 Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

The event is part of PIARC’s “70 Years of Access to Motorsport” 1952-2022 celebrations.

Entries include 36 Improved Production, 33 Circuit Excels, 13 Sports Sedans,  15 Sports Cars ,  20 MG and British Sports Cars, 16 Formula Fords, 8 Formula Ford 1600, 21 Formula Vee, 12 HQ Holden’s, 17 Porsche 944, 16 Saloon Cars, 13 BMW E30s and nine Historic Touring Cars.

PIARC’s Promotions Team said the 229-car entry for a State Championship at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is a great response from the competitors.

The Improved Production field is again the largest field with 36 vehicles, with the BMW E30s Improved Production Cars adding to that number by13.

Circuit Excels number 33 underscoring their popularity. Sports Cars bring the glamour with 15 entries and a 40-minute race with, Sin, Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche and more.

The on-track action commences at 9am Saturday and Sunday, thrilling until 5pm.

Races assure great budget priced entertainment over two days, with spectacular views all around the circuit from the comfort of your car with 87.6 Island Magic FM commentary.

This Event is Round Three of five in the Motorsport Australia 2022 Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships conducted at Phillip Island, Sandown and Winton.
