Boat ramp cameras have been switched on at Rhyll. Boaters and paddlers now have a clearer view of conditions on Western Port with an online camera feed from the boat ramp

The ramp camera images are refreshed every five minutes on Maritime Safety Victoria’s Boating Vic trip preparation website and app. Weather information is powered by the Bureau of Meteorology, and safety advice is provided by Maritime Safety Victoria alongside partner agencies such as the Victorian Fisheries Authority and Parks Victoria.

Earlier in 2020, Boating Vic ramp cameras were switched on at a range of locations including Corinella. Cameron Toy, Director Maritime Safety, said: “We know that many Victorian boaters love to check boat ramp cameras before heading out – Boating Vic users can access these images at the same time as local weather details, for a clearer picture of what to expect.

“With all this information at their fingertips, boaters are able to be better prepared and make safer decisions.”
