The whole of the Ventnor school had been taken into Cowes to see the exotic animals at what Alberta believes was possibly a circus.
The quick thinking of Bert Jones saved her as the camel went to sit down.
He scooped her out of harm’s way, and then comforted the very distressed and frightened small child by taking her over to the ladies serving afternoon tea in a pavilion, and giving her a lemonade.
