Cowes shoppers at Coles and Liquorland have raised more than $6,400 for food rescue organisation SecondBite in the Coles’ annual Winter Appeal, helping to put the equivalent of over 37,000 meals on the table for vulnerable Australians. Customers have supported SecondBite by purchasing a donation card for just $2 or by making a donation at the checkout.

The Coles SecondBite program also rescues edible surplus food from growers, manufacturers and retailers and distributes this free of charge to over 1,400 charities and not-for-profit organisations to feed vulnerable Aussies in need. The rescued food is used by organisations such as PICAL in Cowes to make nourishing meals for community members facing hardship.
