On Wednesday March 29 Our Lady Star of the Sea held a Colour Explosion Run, raising funds to buy bags of rice for each child in its sister school in Bali for Easter.

Through the generosity of the school community there was enough to do this as well as being able to send funds to buy much needed educational supplies for the school.

“We were also lucky enough to have funds towards our new playground,” said Principal Catherine Blackford.

“We started the afternoon with a lunch for parents and students as part of the fundraising.

“This was followed by best afternoon with parents, students and staff joining in the fun.

“The highlight of the day was the opportunity for some of the students to slime the teachers.

“We had ten very brave staff members who ‘volunteered’ to be slimed if we reached our different targets. The great news was that we exceeded our expectations so all the ‘volunteers’ were slimed.”

Each child who raised $20 or more went into the draw to be able slime the teachers.
