Community invited to celebrate 20 years of giving
Bass Coast locals and visitors are invited to celebrate 20 years
Bass Coast locals and visitors are invited to celebrate 20 years since the establishment of the Bass Coast Community Foundation at a gala fundraising event at the Cape Paterson Surf Lifesaving Club on Friday November 18.
Executive Officer Sarah Bourke said since its establishment, the Foundation has given well over $1 million to local community projects and has been working hard in recent times to fund local initiatives focussed on increasing aspirations of local young people and providing opportunities for local women and girls.
“As well as bringing the Kids as Catalyst program to Newhaven Primary School, and now Powlett River and Bass Valley primary schools; we’ve also funded projects in local organisations such as the YES Youth Hub, Bass Coast Specialist School, Bass Coast College, Phillip Island Community and Learning Centre,” she said.
“The pandemic has hit everyone hard, and we’re hoping this event will generate funds to enable us to deliver on more of our priorities in the coming years,” she said.
Tickets are $120 and include a two-course meal, welcome drink and live music as well as a donation to the Foundation. There will be gifts and prizes and a silent auction on the night.
The Foundation was founded in 2022 as a community owned, independent, and non-for-profit organisation, to provide a vehicle for sustainable long-term funding for community driven initiatives, and to make our local communities stronger, more resilient, and healthy.
The event will be held at the Cape Paterson Lifesaving Club. Buy your tickets at www.trybooking.com/events/landing/960327
