Marita Kraft, Vi Pittorino and Cheryl Woodruff from the Phillip Island Boomerang Bag team. Their stuffed whales sold out before lunch on Saturday.
The talented team at Phillip Island and San Remo Boomerang Bags turned their hand to whales in the lead up to the Whale Festival.
They then loaded up an enormous batch of “whales” plus some whale themed carry bags to sell over the festival weekend.
This year the ladies made more than 130 colourful whales as well as their reusable bags and footstools. The whales were made from post-consumer fabric that would otherwise go to landfill.
The whales were a huge hit and the kids couldn’t get enough of these cuddly creatures, selling out before lunch on Saturday.
“We could have sold double the amount of soft toys and it was lovely to see so many children running around with their colourful whales,” said Boomerang Bags’ Marita Kraft.
