The San Remo Good Friday Appeal raised over $35,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The dismal weather didn’t dampen community spirits as people turned out to support the fundraisers, taking on the challenge of the George Bass Walk and adjourning to the San Remo Hotel, for food, entertainment and auctions.
The raffles included a giant basket of Easter goodies, while the silent auctions included donations from local cafes and stores. The live auctions included four rounds of golf donated by the Phillip Island Golf Course, 18 holes donated by the Keysborough Golf Club, a family Wildlife Coast Cruise and A Maze’N Things pass, tools from Bowens and vouchers from Cor Pilates and Island Healing.
The total fundraising included Walk for the Kids ($13,522), the annual Fishing Competition by Jim’s Bait and Tackle ($3675) and the CFA tin rattlers ($17,194).
