Girls On Board’s Jess Laing speaks with Good Morning America’s Maggi Rulli on Phillip Island, a TV segment viewed on the weekend by about 10 million Americans.
Phillip Island’s surf and koalas were seen by millions of American TV viewers on the weekend.
ABC USA’s Good Morning America program featured a five-minute segment that included a surf lesson with Girls On Board’s Jess Laing, and a tour of the Koala Conservation Centre with Nature Parks’ senior ranger Daniel Kallstrom.
ABC News’ Maggie Rulli travelled to the island on the back of the Women’s World Cup, taking the surf lesson despite the cold.
“Back in the day there weren’t really women learning to surf down here but now the majority of our students are women,” Jess told Maggie.
At the KCC Maggie asked Daniel whether koalas were endangered?
Daniel said they weren’t in Victoria but up north in eastern states they were.
