What is the collective noun for a table of PICAL volunteers?

Despite the wintery condition, 175 braved the weather to be part of this year’s PICAL Trivia Night.

It’s a long way to the top – of the leader board, as the tables battled it out for the Trivia crown.
On Friday May 26, 175 people braved the wintery conditions to attend the annual PICAL Trivia Night fundraising event, hosted at the Phillip Island Golf Club and Putters Café.
In addition to the trivia, there were also 52 items up for auction, donated by 36 local Phillip Island businesses.
Nineteen tables battled over three rounds of 30 Trivia questions coordinated by local Trivia Queen Jess Reed and PICAL’s own Tim Anders.
These included tables of MyLi Librarians and the local philosophy club who performed admirably, but in the end it was a team from Cowes Veterinary Clinic who were victorious.
In between each Trivia Round, there were public auctions coordinated by Steve Harvey from Ray White Cowes, who again volunteered his time and professional auctioneering expertise.
Forty items were also available for Silent Auction bids. In what is quickly becoming a Trivia Night tradition, the most hotly contested public auction novelty item was the Ocean Reach Brewing Gift Pack, which again was fought vigorously between the PICAL Committee and management. For the second year in a row, PICAL President Graeme Turner took home the gift pack.
“We want to thank all the local businesses who donated auction items and the Golf Club who again hosted the event, despite their own financial pressures,” Graeme said.
“We know that times are tough, but in addition to raising much-needed funds for PICAL, this annual event provides a very inexpensive way for our local community to spend a fun evening, and we also want to thank everyone who attended.”
Graeme said several of the auctions allowed the successful bidders to grab a bargain.
“As a charity, PICAL relies on events like the Trivia Night, to raise funds for all our food relief and other welfare-assistance services that aren’t funded through any other means.”
