Two Anzac services for Cowes
1 min read

Phillip Island RSL has organised a 6am service and 11am service for the Phillip Island community.

Attending the service will be invited guests from Parliament, Bass Coast Shire Council and the community.

The RSL said for the first time they will welcome Rev. Jennie Gordon, from St John's Uniting Church, Cowes, and the return of Newhaven College Choirs.

For the traditional Anzac Day March, marchers will meet at 10.30am at the corner of Thompson Avenue and Church Street.

The march will commence at 10.40am, moving down Thompson Avenue to the Cenotaph for the 11am service.

Following the service, the 2024 Anzac Community Award will be announced.

Once again, there will be a RAAF flyover at 11.08am.

Numerous organisations will be laying wreaths at the cenotaph ceremony, and Cowes Yacht Club will also be recognising the maritime services with a wreath on the water.

President Peter Paul said everyone was invited back to the RSL after both services.

For the first time, there will be a Gunfire Breakfast at the RSL commencing at 7am, (donation to veteran welfare would be appreciated).

This year, the only catering provided will be a $10 Carvery Lunch, available from 12 noon (free for MyRSL Service Members).

From 12 to 3pm, Matt Bradshaw will once again provide entertainment.

The RSL will be open for regular dinner service from 5.30pm.
