Staff from Cowes Primary School and Project 12 Architecture received the award for the Cowes Gym from Minister Natalie Hutchins (centre) at the Victorian School Design Awards on October 19.

Cowes Primary School is celebrating an award for its new gym, which opened earlier this year.

On October 19, the gym won the Best School Project between $5-10 million at the  2022 Victorian School Design Awards.

This year's entries included a range of striking, clever and innovative designs for both schools and kindergartens which have resulted in new and better facilities, making it easier for students to learn and teachers to teach.

Principal Rod McKenzie said the award was a wonderful endorsement for the project architects Project 12 Architecture and the school.

The award was presented by Minister for Education Natalie Hutchins in a ceremony at the State Library.
