Cowes Primary at division athletics
On September 14, Cowes Primary students competed in the School Sport Victoria South Gippsland Division Primary Track and Field event.
On Thursday September 14, 30 Cowes Primary School students attended Casey Athletics Track to participate in the School Sport Victoria South Gippsland Division Primary Track and Field event.
The weather was amazing, if anything a little warm for athletics.
Cowes students performed very well with 15 students qualifying for the Regional Championships on October 10 at Newborough.
Out of this group, the U12/13 girls relay team consisting of Marni Goulter, Violet Robertson, Kate McCausland and Macy Piera broke the four by 100m race record by just over a second from 1:00:51 to 59:38 and Fergus Tillotson broke the 11-year-old triple jump by just under a metre from 8.67m to 9.62m.
