Cup Weekend patchwork display

Once again, the Phillip Island Patchworkers will be showcasing their beautiful quilts and associated crafts at the Newhaven Hall over the Melbourne Cup long weekend.

The exhibition runs from Saturday October 31 to Monday November 2, and it is open from 10am to 4pm each day. Admission is $8 and children are free.

All proceeds from the display go directly to local emergency services and charities, helping to support the wonderful work they do within the community.

"We would love for you to come along and have a look," a club spokesperson invited.

"There will be many beautiful patchwork quilts and handmade items created by our talented members.

"You will also be able to admire the wonderful work produced by the Wonthaggi Woodcrafters."

Jeanette Clark from Patchwork Maze, will have a shop set up, with a wonderful range of patchwork fabrics, patterns and accessories.

There is plenty to see and do:

• Browse the trading table, with lots of goodies available to purchase.
• Enjoy the famous Devonshire Tea for just $5.
• Have a go at patchwork yourself by joining our members as they sew quilts for our Comfort Quilt Program. These quilts are donated locally to community members in need.

"Our love of craft and friendship is what brings us together," the spokesperson said.
"We enjoy creating, sharing our skills, learning from one another and, of course, having a good chat.
"So come along, have a look around, enjoy a Devonshire Tea and join in the fun and friendship."
