David does it again

Phillip Island’s David Taylor has again won the Best in Show award at the recent 2025 Camberwell Art Show.
His winning work “Shades of Evening, Weymouth Harbour” took out the $10,000 first prize at last week’s event, and his other entry was snapped up by a keen buyer.
The Best in Show award is a prestigious one, his winning entry up against 1200 paintings by 500 artists from across Australia.
The Camberwell Art Show is the biggest event of its kind to be held in the southern hemisphere, and celebrated its 60th birthday this year.
David has been a consistent entrant over that time, winning multiple awards including Best in Show several times.
He is renowned nationally and internationally for his work, and for his dedication to teaching and sharing his passion for watercolour, at workshops both on Phillip Island and across Australia.
He regularly demonstrates his techniques to emerging artists, and did so again at the Camberwell Art Show, on this occasion painting a Tasmanian landscape from scratch for an enthralled audience which was then auctioned when completed to the highest bidder.
David’s art, and that of his partner Diana Edwards, is on display at the couple’s Iluka Studio Gallery at 28 Settlement Road, Silverleaves.
