Defib session for Cape Woolamai

A new AED defibrillator has been installed outside the Wooli Express store in Cape Woolamai, available to the public 24/7.

The unit was generously donated by the Wonthaggi Rotary Club.

Local paramedic Immogen, along with fellow paramedic Erin, has been running a campaign, contacting businesses and organisations across the island to source and house AEDs (automated external defibrillator).

Immogen said she was very excited to let the community know about the new AED.

"As a local paramedic, I've seen firsthand how crucial this will be in assisting anyone experiencing cardiac arrest in Cape Woolamai and surrounding areas, especially given our geographical location."

She's invited the community to attend a "Call, Push, Shock" session at the Wooli Tavern on October 5 from 10am to 11am to learn how to use an AED and receive tips on CPR.

"We'll also be unveiling the AED at Wooli Express," Immogen said.

"A huge thank you to all the local businesses for their support in making this possible!"

Cape Woolamai's October 5 event starts at 10am and details are on Facebook: www.facebook.com/share/utwgSxdD8h4YwJbD/?mibextid=9l3rBW
