Over recent weeks, children at the Phillip Island Early Learning Centre and surrounding kindergartens have visited Cowes Primary School for their first Prep transition session.
The children were eager to explore the new environment and learn about the different activities that Prep students at Cowes Primary School get to enjoy.
Using the beloved children's book The Magic Hat by Mem Fox as inspiration, the children explored how patterns, sequins and feathers can be used to create their own magic hat. Bilby students from the
PIELC practiced their fine motor skills by cutting, gluing and assembling their hats which they then wore in an imaginative play activity.
These transition sessions are thoughtfully designed to ease and support students in building familiarity and confidence in the new school environment whilst fostering a sense of belonging and excitement about the adventures ahead. By blending exploration, creativity, and storytelling, the day set a positive tone for the kindergarteners' educational journey.
Parents who are wanting to make an informed decision about their child's primary education journey are encouraged to attend the upcoming information sessions to learn more about what Cowes
Primary School has to offer.
