1 min read

The Phillip Island Movie Club (PIMC) presents its second film for March – "Anatomy of a Fall" at Berninneit on March 27 at 7pm.

This French mystery/thriller, crime /drama released in 2023 was written and directed by Justine Triet.

In the past year, Sandra, her husband Samuel, and their eleven-year-old son Daniel have lived a secluded life in a remote town in the French Alps. When Samuel is found dead in the snow below their chalet, the police question whether he was murdered or committed suicide.

Samuel's suspicious death is presumed murder and Sandra becomes the main suspect. What follows is not just an investigation into the circumstances of Samuel's death but an unsettling psychological journey into the depths of Sandra and Samuel's conflicted relationship.

"It is a very long film and covers many issues and asks deep questions about gender, sexuality and disability," said PIMC secretary Margaret Byrne.

"The film has received many awards, Palme d'Or and Palm Dog Award at the recent Cannes Film Festival, best Screenplay at the BAFTA and OSCAR awards, plus many other European awards. You are in for a wild ride."

The film starts at 7pm and it is recommended you prebook your seat prior to the night as bookings are already high.

"Anatomy of a Fall" is rated R and runs for two hours and 30 minutes.

All PIMC films are now members only events, so you need to bring your membership card and proof of booking.
