The Waterline community is holding a series of events in the coming months, including events to raise funds for the area’s nurse practitioner.
The funds raised will help Deb Garvey continue the practice in Grantville, which has operated in the area for 11 years.
It kicks off with a Market of Treasures on September 17, running from 9.30am to 2pm at the Coronet Bay Hall.
Items being donated by the community include original artwork, books, collectables, furniture and even a brand new drone.
All proceeds from the market will be used to help the Nurse Practitioner service to continue in Grantville.
The fundraisers were organised after a recent Medicare review concluded that nurse practitioner Deb Garvey was spending more time with her patients than Medicare allowed and she’s been directed to repay money, with further restrictions placed on the Medicare items she can access.
A GoFundMe page has been set up: www.gofundme.com/f/help-the-nurse-practitioner-clinic.
