Local author ML Tompsett is giving a talk in July at the Corinella Community Centre on “How to be an Author”.
“I want it known there are many traps in the writing world,” she said.
“Innocent people are taken advantage of by certain small vanity publishing houses, requesting money up front to publish their client books. If and when someone publishes a book, the publishing company never requests money from the author! Turn and run the other way.”
She hopes her talk will encourage others to write fiction or nonfiction.
