Phillip Island Nature Parks consultation sessions aim to capture community sentiment on the future of the Summerland Peninsula.
The sessions are the first stage in putting together a new masterplan for the Summerland Peninsula.
Jarvis Weston, the Nature Park's General Manager for Infrastructure and Planning, said the community's input is an important part of development of the new plan.
He said the consultation had deliberately been left open-ended, to get a real feel for what the community wants.
"We could have given some parameters and some ideas and concepts, but then you potentially start to stifle the innovation and creativity," Jarvis said.
After the initial consultation, a draft masterplan will be put together, and then presented to the community for further feedback, hopefully around October, with the masterplan finalised by the end of the year.
Anyone who can't attend the sessions for this round of consultation, can also fill in an online survey at www.penguins.org.au, or email thoughts and ideas to community@penguins.org.au
