Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club (WBSLSC) is opening its doors, post Block, to give the community a chance to see the changes for themselves.
Club President, Jason Close said they were thrilled to host the reality TV show team.
"Each season, The Block likes to give back something to the local community, and we were rapt that they chose our club to help out, through their community challenge.
"Our Club is a voluntary organisation that has been serving the community of Phillip Island and Bass Coast for the last 65 years. Our clubhouse is our rescue base and home away from home for many of our volunteer lifesavers.
"It's now over 20 years old and has experienced a lot of wear and tear and harsh coastal conditions. What The Block has been able to do in just one week has been remarkable."
Club Vice President, Fi Blackmore said the open day on September 27 was a way of showing the club's appreciation for the years of support from the community.
"We have greatly appreciated our community's support over many years. For this reason, we will be hosting a community open day on Friday September 27 between 2pm and 5pm at the clubhouse.
"We would love it if members of the community could visit and have a look around an operational surf lifesaving club, and of course take a look at some of the great work The Block has carried out."
During the afternoon Club members will hold clubhouse tours, answer questions about surf lifesaving, Nippers program and some of the special events, training courses and programs that the club runs.
WBSLSC is also raising funds for urgent repairs and an upgrade to the Smiths Beach Rescue Base. Electronic donations can be made on the day and via the club's webpage (www.woolamaibeach.org.au/donate).
