Expo for schools and industry
The JobSkills Expo is back on Tuesday, July 23 at Lardner Park in Warragul.
A partnership with the Department of Education and Latrobe Valley Authority has led to an expo double the size - a first for the Gippsland region.
The Jobskills Expo has become a major event for schools and industry in our region, targeting Year 9, 10 + VPC/VM students, community members, and young people from training and community organisations in the Bass Coast and surrounding shires.
With over 2400 students from across Gippsland booked in to participate, exhibitors are looking forward to showcasing the various skills and jobs that make up our regional workforce. With a particular focus on "hands-on" activities, there will be wonderful and creative displays. The Department of Education and Latrobe Valley Authority's "My Gippsland 2035" pavilion will see a dedicated space for students who identify as female or gender diverse given a chance to learn more about the opportunities available to them in traditionally male dominated industries.
There's going to be some exciting displays including Emerging Industries, Allied Health, Emergency Services, Defence Force, Apprenticeships/Traineeships, Trades and Utilities.
In addition TAFE Gippsland will be showcasing a huge array of their training courses, including Community Services, Health Studies/Nursing/Aged Care, Screen/Media/Visual Arts, Beauty, Agriculture, Automotive, Electrical, Painting and Decorating, Bricklaying, Carpentry/Cabinet Making and Foundation/Transition Studies plus many more.
