A farmer has criticised the council's rate review consultation process, saying it was "inadequate and poorly timed". There are three proposed rating options for farmers, with each proposing to remove the current land management rebate, which provides up to $650,000 to farmers to offset costs of environmental work such as weed control. Councillors will vote on the rate review on February 18.
