Federal Minister raises stakes on Western Port
If the VRET is approved, dredging of Western Port will take place in the purple area, 24/7 for five months. Western Port is one of only five UNESCO Biosphere Reserves in Australia. In 1982 it was designated a Ramsar wetland of international importance, to protect critical bird habitats.
