Female Football Celebration at Korumburra
On May 11, GSL is hosting a Female Football Celebration.
On Saturday May 11, the Gippsland Soccer League is hosting a Female Football Celebration event as part of Female Football Week.
Alexandra "Chids" Chidiac (Matilda and Melbourne Victory player) is joining the Gippsland Soccer League in Korumburra. Alex will be assisting with a free skills clinic for the juniors and meeting those who want to have a chat.
At just 16-years-old, she made her debut with the Matildas in 2015 and now, eight years on she has been a frequent figure and well-loved character of the Australian National Team.
After numerous stints overseas including Spain, Japan, America and most recently Mexico, Alex has returned home to Australia after signing with Melbourne Victory FC in the Liberty A-League Women's competition. This deal makes her one of the first long-term marquee players in the competition's history.
At the age of 24, she has picked up numerous trophies and medals, including two A-League Women's Championships, one Liga F Championship (Spain), two PFA Young Player of the Year awards and the Melbourne Victory Medal.
Most recently, Alex took out the 2022/23 Julie Dolan Medal, claiming Australian domestic football's highest individual honour in just 13 games.
She has a cult following across Australian and global football, affectionately known for her genuine and somewhat cheeky engagement with fans. Her signature look of baggy shorts and low socks has become well known across the sport.
