Reserves win in a thriller
1 min read

In a thrilling contest that went down to the wire, Phillip Island's Reserves clinched an important six-point win over a determined Tooradin-Dalmore outfit.

The game was a seesawing battle, with momentum swinging multiple times throughout the four quarters.

From the outset, both teams applied intense pressure at the contest and the Bulldogs showed great character to withstand Tooradin-Dalmore’s surges, particularly in the final term.

Their ability to maintain structure and stick to their game plan under pressure was a key factor in the win.

Jordy Patullo led the charge up forward, kicking two goals and providing a strong target all game.

He was well supported by Jack Huther, Travis Woodfield, Brady Ross, Mikka Paulsen and Bryce Pewtress, who all capitalised on their opportunities in front of goal.

The midfield group, led by the ever-reliable Finlay Cousins and Darcy Thompson, won crucial clearances at key moments.

Jack Keating added grunt and composure through the middle, while Mikka Paulsen and Max Mattock contributed with important run and carry off half-back.

This victory cements the Reserves’ place in the top four, currently sitting fourth on the ladder with five rounds to go.

Their form is building at the right time of the season, and with continued effort and intensity, they’re shaping up as genuine finals contenders.
