Koo Wee Rup responded late in the quarter with three of their own, but the Island held their nerve, adding another two to take a 39–19 lead into the first break.
After a firm address from coach Cam Pedersen at quarter time, the Bulldogs unleashed in the second term, piling on seven goals in a dominant display. Mark Collinson, Hayden Bruce and Pedersen were everywhere, winning possession and driving the team forward.

Billy Taylor celebrated his 100th senior game in style, showcasing his class with four goals.
Cam Pedersen also finished with four and Finn O’Brien, enjoying a week off from Gippsland Power due to a bye, slotted three.
With the game well in hand by the final change, the Bulldogs eased off slightly in the last quarter, allowing Koo Wee Rup to add four goals.
The Island now face a huge fortnight ahead, with back-to-back clashes against the undefeated Nar Nar Goon and second-placed Cora Lynn.
