Bulldog young guns 2023 Premiers
Congratulations to coach Steve Duggan and his coaching team on back-to-back Under 16 Premierships.
The day started with the Under 16s heading into their Grand Final against Warragul Industrials.
With the Bulldogs undefeated, and the only three losses for the Dusties being against the Bulldogs during the season, an intriguing contest was expected.
The Dusties got out of the blocks fast with the breeze, dominating the first quarter and causing a significant rethink from the Bulldogs.
Jack Briggs and Finn O’Brien stood tall for the Bulldogs against the Cody Templeton and Tom Logan for the Dusties.
After the first, the Bulldogs were able to settle, evening-up the game from the mid field whilst the star-studded forward line was able to get moving.
Oliver Duggan led the way for the Bulldogs, whilst some superb academy-award level performances from Max Taylor helped get the scoreboard ticking along.
Cooper Walton took over all around the ground with Charlie O’Garey being his prolific best around the ball.
The Bulldogs were able to score seven goals to one after quarter time, taking charge of the game whilst the Dusties never gave up.
Jasper Cashman was ably assisted by Ben Chihotski, whilst Jack Briggs continued to dominate all through the game, resulting in a well-deserved best-on-ground award.
With the Bulldogs running out victors 54-27, it was an excellent start for the day.
Congratulations to coach Steve Duggan and his coaching team on back-to-back Under 16 Premierships.
